 THE 1989 NWA BASH TOUR (00:13:34)
Ray breaks down the first half of the 1989 Great American Bash Tour, comparing this year’s ticket sales with years prior. We discuss everything from the Tour Main Event of Terry Funk vs. Sting being canceled for the first leg of the tour due to injury, to events drawing less than 1,000 fans, to the NWA completely CANCELING cities due to poor ticket sales. Find out where the ’89 Tour matches up with previous Bash tours. Spoiler alert… Not well.

NWA Power Hour 6/30/89 (00:30:37)
TV Champion Sting defends against Ron Simmons. 6-Man action with All 3 Freebirds taking on Dr. Death, Rick Steiner, and Eddie Gilbert! It’s the TV DEBUT of Flyin’ Brian Pillman as well as the final taped match of Ricky Santana in the NWA. U.S. Champion Lex Luger is the guest this week on Funk’s Grill. The Skyscrapers continue to dominate. Plus, it’s WNN with Gordon Solie who talks the WWF and Jake Roberts’ injury, Ric Flair’s announcement, and he even creates some #FakeNews for good measure. Uh-uh, BRU-THER!

NWA Worldwide 7/1/89 (00:51:16)
WE HAVE BLOOD! For the first time in 1989, we get BLOOD when crazy Terry Funk attacks Sting with the Branding Iron!!! The Funker returns later in the program to take on Ricky Santana and grabs a hand full of junk. The SST have a trial run with Lee Scott as a human projectile. 6-Man action with all 3 Freebirds, plus action with Sullivan & Rotunda, Ranger Ross, Jim Cornette speaks, and Scott Hall pokes things with a different stick this week. We even get an early look at the future Glacier, Blood Runs Cold… Plus, it’s finally here… Ric Flair makes his special announcement. Will he retire, or will he return to action???

THE SST LAUNCH LEE SCOTT INTO ORBIT WITH THE HIGHEST BACKDROP WE’VE EVER SEEN!!! No seriously, go check it out on our Twitter @RasslinGrenade . A pair of debuts for the Steiner Brothers as Jim Ross coins the term “Steinerline” while Scott Steiner debuts his “Blockbuster” Backflip Suplex. “Wildfire” Tommy Rich makes his return to the TBS ring to battle Wild Bill Irwin. The Great Muta takes on the returning Italian Stallion. Terry Funk responds to Ric Flair’s Press Conference. Action with the likes of the Skyscrapers, and another appearance from the future Glacier, Blood Runs Colder… Plus, a surprise IN-STUDIO promo from the Nature Boy closes the show. He’s Baa-ack, WOOO!

It’s our second look at THE DING DONGS. Plus, the Skyscrapers continue to dominate, Flyin’ Brian makes his singles TV debut against George South, and Dick Murdoch teams with Ranger Ross vs. The New Zealand Militia in the main event.

SCOTT STEINER DEBUTS THE FRANKENSTEINER!!! It’s Funk’s Grill with guest Paul E. Dangerously. Flyin’ Brian teams with the Dynamic Dudes vs. Wild Bill Irwin and the New Zealand Militia. Scott Steiner has his hands full with the Bounty Hunter (Al Green). Singles action with Wildfire Tommy Rich. Plus, it’s Gordon Solie’s WNN as he talks the WWF feud between the Ultimate Warrior and Rick Rude, and the NWA TOP 10 FINALLY CHANGES!!!

Dr. Death takes on all 3 Freebirds, and does a pretty good job before he gets some help to even the odds. The Dynamic Dudes challenge the Freebirds for the World Tag Team Titles. It’s the Road Warriors “Ironman” Video. Action involving Norman the Lunatic, “Hot Stuff” Eddie Gilbert, the Skyscrapers, Sullivan & Rotunda, and the SST continue to pick on poor Lee Scott as he’s launched one more time into the sky. Interviews with Lex Luger, Terry Funk, and Jim Cornette. Plus, the NWA Top 10 changes TWICE in the same weekend as Ranger Ross manages to crack the list! Hey, who are you to doubt the Ranger?!

U.S. Champion Lex Luger defends again Ranger Ross. Plus, action with the Midnight Express, the Steiner Brothers, Eddie Gilbert, the Skyscrapers, the SST, and Terry Funk takes on the future Glacier, Ray Lloyd. In an odd piece of business, Joe Pedicino demands that Ric Flair take out Terry Funk. Plus, Norman plays the drums… on his head… thanks to the use of a garbage can and a stick. You can’t make this stuff up.

NWA World Championship Wrestling 7/8/89 (02:34:31)
It’s THE RETURN OF THE DANGER ZONE with guest Terry Funk! Action with the Tag Champs The Freebirds vs. Randy Rose & Steve Casey, the Midnight Express vs. The New Zealand Militia, Flyin’ Brian vs. Cruel Connection, and Scott Steiner continues to try and break his neck on the sensational, yet suicidal Blockbuster Suplex. Ricky Steamboat demands a No DQ match for the U.S. Title at the Bash. Lex Luger responds to Ricky’s challenge. Ric Flair promises to KILL Terry Funk at the PPV. Yikes! Plus, Missy Hyatt has been dressing conservatively all Grenade, but she finally gives Ray something to drool over. Hubba, Hubba! 

The Great American Bash – Boston Garden Results 7/8/89 (02:56:02)
We close out the show by looking at Bash results as the NWA invades WWF territory with a stacked card. Hear what happens when the Freebirds refuse to sell to Dr. Death and the Midnights. Jimmy Garvin gets a taste of what happens When “Keepin’ It Real Goes Wrong” at the hands of Dr. Death.
