Episode #02: “That Was Fake, Man!”

It’s Episode #2 of Dangerous Conversations with Doug Gilbert, and this week we talk to Doug about one of the wildest episodes of USWA Championship Wrestling that ever aired, from beginning to end! It’s the January 13, 1996 episode and it features two title changes, heel turns, a face turn, and it all centers around Doug Gilbert, Tommy Rich, and Jerry ‘the King’ Lawler!  The episode featured what was a pretty surreal promo at the time between Doug and the King (and eventually Tommy Rich).  We listen to the whole promo and then Doug breaks it down in detail as far as what was said before, during, and after the promo and what the intent behind it was. The promo was unique for the time period and pretty shocking… and this marks the first time it has ever been discussed in detail.. anywhere! Doug also answers a fan question concerning Smoky Mountain Wrestling to round out the episode!
