The Exodus of Ricky Steamboat (00:10;50)
Jim Herd can’t seem to come to terms on a new contract with the Dragon, and Steamer shockingly walks. Where does this leave the Total Package as far as challengers for his U.S. Title goes?

The Conclusion of the Bash Tour (00:17:24)
We take a lake at the final leg of the Bash Tour. How did the houses fair post Bash PPV?

NWA Power Hour 7/28 – 29/89 (00:21:25)
The Braves go 17 Inning (and lose) causing the Power Hour to air LATE, LATE at night! It’s the battle of two friends as part of the NWA Top 10 rankings when “Hot Stuff” Eddie Gilbert takes on “Wildfire” Tommy Rich. The storytelling from Paul E and Lance Russell in the Rich vs. Gilbert match is a thing of beauty. Gordon Solie breaks down the entire Bash PPV. Norman the… Clown(?) is the guest on Funk’s Grill. Scott Hall & Ranger Ross vs. New Zealand Militia. Missy Hyatt looking only as she can. Plus, Dan Spivey vs. Johnny Rich outs new meaning to the term “Extended Squash”.

NWA Pro 7/29/89 (00:35:05)
From Amarillo, hometown hero Terry Funk receives the cheers against Big Scott Hall. Dr. Death takes on Wild Bill Irwin. Gary Hart talks the vacant TV Title. Mike Rotunda issues a challenge to Dr. Death, and Doc accepts with an added stipulation. More action from Sting, the Midnight Express, Mike Rotunda, and Norman runs into stuff. Scott Hall cuts his very first (and probably last) NWA promo. Plus, Doc channels his inner Hacksaw Duggan. Hooo!

NWA Worldwide 7/29/89 (00:51:19)
The show opens with Rick Steiner doing his best Iron Sheik impersonation, and concludes with Rick taking on the Sheik in a hilarious contest that sees Steiner make Sheik HUMBLE! This may be Sheik’s last entertaining match of his career! Highlights of that match on Twitter right now @RasslinGrenade ! In-ring action with Terry Funk, the SST, Norman, & Flyin’ Brian. The Skyscrapers meet Johnny & Davey Rich. Plus, promos from Terry Funk, Scott Steiner, Lex Luger, and….. RICKY STEAMBOAT???

NWA World Championship Wrestling 7/29/89 (01:09:50)
In a major production snafu, Mike Rotunda challenges Dr. Death to a scientific match, but they play the wrong rebuttal with Doc giving away the outcome of the match… BEFORE IT AIRS NEXT WEEK!!! The Steiner Brothers battle The Iron Sheik & Ron Simmons. SkyScrapers & Norman team up vs. Tommy, Johnny, AND Davey Rich. Action with Sting, Flyin’ Brian, and the already departed RICKY STEAMBOAT. Plus, hear what the Funker has in common with the WHOOPING CRANE!

NWA Main Event 7/30/89 (01:32:32)
Jim Ross hosts as Paul E. is “running late” to avoid discussing his losses at the Bash. Dick Murdoch teams with Eddie Gilbert, along with 49ers legend John Ayers in their corner, to take on Wild Bill Irwin and Norman. We get another look at the Ding Dongs, and I swear to you, they’re slightly less terrible here than earlier matches. In a throwback to 1980 WTBS the Iron Sheik faces Tommy Rich. Plus, Ric Flair talks the fallout from the Bash, Co-host Steve Eckstat feels bad for Joe Pedicino, AND Paul E. finally arrives at the studio!

MONDAY WARFARE: THE BATTLES WITHIN (01:44:54)
Follow us @MondayWarfare and listen to our sister Podcast, Monday Warfare! It was the WWF vs. WCW. Raw vs. Nitro. The Monday Night War. The Ratings War. The nWo. The Attitude Era. While everyone discusses who won the war, it’s truly the battles within the war that made this weekly episodic rivalry so exciting. We break it all down from episode reviews to backstage news, to those ever-important TV ratings!

QUICK NOTE: For the weekend of August 4th – 6th, Ray goes into his own master tapes in his “Archives” (A/K/A his Storage Room) to find the most complete form of each episode possible. He uncovers 4 complete episodes of NWA TV for the weekend! Cha-ching!

NWA Power Hour 8/4/89 (01:45:36)
How’s THIS for a main event… Sting & Dr. Death vs. Terry Funk & Terry Gordy!!! Gordon Solie announces the departure of Ricky Steamboat from the NWA. Eddie Gilbert battles the Bounty Hunter while Missy and Rick Steiner eat popcorn, no lie! Scott Steiner meets Rip Morgan of the Militia. Norman returns to Funk’s Grill and brings Teddy Long with him. Plus, there’s an overhaul of the NWA Top 10, and introducing THE FAN SCAN.

NWA Worldwide 8/5/89 (02:02:56)
OH BOY!!! See what happens when a job guy decides he’s going to NO SELL THE SKYSCRAPERS!!! (Full match currently on Twitter @RasslinGrenade !) Production continues to drop the ball as they air Luger and Steamboat promos hyping “upcoming No DQ matches”. How’s this for a hidden gem, The Dong Dongs battle the New Zealand Militia! Action with Scott Steiner, Terry Funk, and Dr. Death. Promos Galore with Sting, Funk, Flair, Bill Irwin, and more Fan Scan nonsense. Plus World Tag Team Champion Freebirds vs. Johnny & Davey Rich

NWA World Championship Wrestling 8/5/89 (02:27:13)
It’s the hard sell for the final stop on the Bash tour at the Omni! Gary Hart cohosts with Jim Ross. Rick Steiner replaces Steamboat to face Lex Luger for the U.S. Title in the Omni, and Rick has bought himself a front-row ticket, to watch… himself wrestle??? Michael Hayes invades the Danger Zone. Matches with the Road Warriors, SkyScrapers, and Tommy Rich. Promos from Flair, Sting, Funk, Lex, and Rick Steiner. Sting teams with Eddie Gilbert in the main event to take on the New Zealand Militia. A wild brawl ensues between Sting & Flair vs. Muta & Funk. And the Nature Boy steals, wears, and dances in Terry Funk’s Cowboy Boots!!! Wooo!

NWA Main Event 8/6/89 (02:48:23)
World Tag Champ Freebirds defend against The Dynamic Dudes. Mike Rotunda offers Steve Casey his Letter Jacket if he’s caught cheating. Plus, the Midnights vs. The Militia.

It’s the final night of the Bash and it doesn’t disappoint. We look at the results from the show, a major change in a key match on the card, and more!
